PARA AQUELLOS QUE NO HAN LLEGADO AL "SUFI" ESTE TRIMESTRE...
Good evening, dear parents.
It is important to emphasise that there are times when, even though our children work quite hard that is not enough to get the targets in the subject.
So, despite the reasons why we got to that point (we are to talk about that in a parents-teacher meeting) I´m to set some tasks to fulfill on holidays.
Estimados padres y madres:
Me gustaría hacerles saber que hay veces en las que nuestros niños y niñas, a pesar de haber trabajado desde septiembre no llegan a alcanzar los objetivos propuestos en esta asignatura.
Por eso, independientemente de los motivos por los que hemos llegado a este punto (Tutoría, de lunes a viernes - previo aviso- a las 9 o a las 12) voy a recomendar algunas tareas para las vacaciones.
Cuando reciban las notas el próximo día 22, si su hijo/a tiene un "insuficiente" en Inglés, por favor consulten este blog.

WHAT´S YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION? HOMEWORK 4ºA AND 4ºB

Buenas tardes a todos.
Quiero agradecer su colaboración y destacar la creatividad de los videos que me están mandando las familias de 4º.
Hemos conseguido precisamente lo que buscaba con estos deberes:
La implicación total de la familia en la elaboración y que hagan algo creativo todos juntos.
El Inglés es comunicación, una forma de vida, algo totalmente vivo, lleno de color y matices.
Asi son los videos que estoy recibiendo.
Da gusto actualizar el blog a cada instante con contenidos tan divertidos y que transmiten la alegría que tienen nuestros niños.
El video de Lina es una excepción en cuanto a detalles personales.
Ya saben que sigo unas pautas muy estrictas sobre los datos personales y que no publico fotos de los niños, contenidos con sus nombres, apellidos ni con el nombre del colegio.
Sin embargo, puesto que la familia de Lina ha grabado este video incluyendo sus datos, lo publico a continuación con su consentimiento.
Reitero que en este caso se me ha autorizado a publicarlo.

Please remember I´ll write such data in "PRIMARY 1º,2º" and "PRIMARY 3º, 4º".

Hi everyone and Lucy in particular!.
I feel extremely happy today since I´ver just read your comment. It brightened up my day!
When you teach a subject at school you always dream of making your students an active part in it. What I mean is that you crave for communicating, for making language an important thing in their lives!.
You just wrote a comment that I did not expect, in fact, since I´m no longer your teacher.
However, I can tell you that both you and your classmates play an oustanding role in my memories as a teacher since you were one of the groups I taught in my first year at school.
I remember the Easter cards you made...do you know that I found yours last year? I still keep some of them.
By the way (I love boasting around about this...) I was lucky enough to sleep at Portora Royal, Oscar Wilde´s school in Enniskillen (Northern Ireland). It was great. You enter that school and there is a huge hall, with his portrait on the wall! I remember I was quite shocked since it was the same portrait I saw in one of the compulsory novels I had to read at the uni!!!.
I also like "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and I remember the film in the 1940s. I bought it a couple of years ago with a special edition of the novel.

SOME "GHOST STUFF" FOR MY STUDENTS IN 6º (now that you are all thinking about Halloween...)
Since Halloween is just around the corner (even though you know I don´t celebrate it when I´m in Spain, just when I lived in Northern Ireland), I thought of letting you know about one of the classics:
"The Canterville Ghost", a short story by Oscar Wilde.
My English teacher chose it as compulsory reading when I was a couple of years older than you.

Well...Autumn came at last. It always was and will be my
favourite season.
Some people will get grumpy and complain about rain, wind
and cold. Cold is maybe the worst of them three.
However, there are loads of nice memories in my brain
concerning autumn and rain...
The best of them...me in my tiny wellies, jumping into every
single pond I would come across in my way to school...
and jumping so high as to get stained
and share those stains with whom dared to get in my way!...
And a few years ago...the smell of the soil, "soaked to the bone"
by the rain drops of the emerald island...
...flavours and smells of nature, wood, factories
and the sight of ravens
scratching their wings with their beaks,
waiting patiently on the traffic lights...
not eager at all to keep flying their way out...

5º PRIMARIA. ABOUT THE NOVEL "STARMAN"
Hi, dear children in 5º.
From now on I will submit some podcasts I am recording about the novel "Starman".
I will read some pages, or provide you with some activities you can do at home to improve your listening in English.
Chicos y chicas de 5º, aqui podréis consultar algunos podcasts o archivos de audio que iré grabando para vosotros. Escuchadlos y enviadme por correo electrónico lo que os voy pidiendo en cada uno de ellos.
Serán tareas simples, puesto que no os veo este curso. El objetivo es que os resulte cada vez más sencillo escuchar y pronunciar en Inglés.
Publico el primer podcast en la derecha de la pantalla, en"LABELS". Buscad el "PODCAST 5º-1" dentro de todos los Podcasts.
Os doy hasta el 15 de octubre para que me escribáis el email con lo que os pido.

Hi, my dear students.
I hope you had a great time this weekend. I know it was quite special.
I found this album when I was tidying up.
I bought it in 1983!!!. Quite a long time ago.
At school (26th May).

I onced lived in an island where it rains for months, though I think we had such a rainy season this year!!!

A Spanish Parade in another country
Hi my students in 2ºESO.
Do you remember I told you about a certain parade I took part in to welcome some Spaniards abroad?
Look at this picture. Sure you will never see me in it but I can tell you I was in that very same street.
Can you see the flag?. There were lots of them and some people even learnt a few sentences in Spanish to welcome those Spaniards.

Andalusia. My favourite destination

Next 28 February we celebrate the day of our region.
Some students in 6ºB have written about their feelings about it.
Andalucía is a big region. In Andalucía there are monuments like the Alhambra,the Mezquita and they are very beautiful. Alfonso.
My favourite city of Andalusia is Granada. My favourite castle is la Alhambra. Maria P.

2. What does he/she/it like? ¿Qué le gusta a él/ella/un animal?
He/she/it likes meat. Le gusta la carne.
He/she/it doesn´t like fish. No le gusta el pescado.
