They give our children their views on sports and some traditional recipes in Britain.

Voy a crear, en la columna derecha del blog un nuevo "gadget" con los enlaces de materiales del proyecto que iré compartiendo con vosotros. Se llamará "E-TWINNING PROJECT". En él podremos ver materiales de los cinco centros europeos que colaboran con nosotros (dos británicos, uno italiano, uno turco y uno rumano).
En ese gadget sí se abren automáticamente los documentos, sin necesidad de "copiar y pegar".

Our school would like to say hello! Here we all are on our annual walking trip to our local nature reserve. We are really lucky to have a canal just at the bottom of our school field and every year we walk the 7km to Chasewater lake and back to enjoy our surroundings and keep healthy! Take a look at our pictures !

Los padres y madres que autoricen que sus hijos e hijas de 6º y otros cursos de la ESO/Bachillerato se hagan fotos esta semana en Sierra Nevada, por favor que me las envíen por email con su confirmación personal (o me lo digan en persona). Los niños de Millfield tienen muchas ganas de ver fotos de las jornadas en la nieve. Según la seño Ruth (su seño) hay muchos de ellos que no han esquiado nunca y sienten bastante curiosidad por ver qué tal os lo pasáis. Lanzo este mensaje a los padres o madres que coincidan con sus niños en la sierra y quieran colaborar en este reportaje gráfico para nuestro proyecto europeo.


En el otro centro colaborador, Hawkchurch Primary, los niños y niñas de 6º están aprendiendo francés. Aquellos padres y madres que sois franceses y os apetece aportar vuestro granito de arena a este proyecto europeo, me podéis mandar un email a la dirección que os hice llegar en una circular en las notas y os cuento lo que tengo en mente..

Os recomiendo que escuchéis las canciones de nuestra mascota. Las voy cambiando de vez en cuando. La primera es muy divertida: hay que hacer lo que nos va diciendo Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy) durante la canción. Te ríes mucho con ella. Se nota que es de Enniskillen, con ese humor tan norirlandés...

Pictures from the teacher in Turkey and her students trying our recipes!!!

Good evening!
I´m so happy!. I just got some pictures the teacher from Instambul uploaded this afternoon.
There are some students in them and the teacher,too. They are tasting the "picadillo" that goes with our traditional gazpacho.


Parents interested in getting these pictures, please write me an email.


Buenas tardes a todos.


Estoy muy contenta, ya que acabo de ver las fotos que me ha enviado la profesora de Estambul. Ya sabéis que en ningún momento pondremos nombres y apellidos en ellas ninguno de los colaboradores en este proyecto. Todas las fotos que intercambiamos han sido tomadas con el consentimiento de las familias de cada centro europeo implicado.


La semana que viene recibiréis la circular que habrá de firmarse para que se nos autorice a las seños de Inglés de Primaria a hacer fotografías de nuestros grupos (nunca fotografías individuales).
En las de Estambul,se ve a algunos de los alumnos y a la seño probando el picadillo que le solemos poner al gazpacho.
Lo curioso es que lo han hecho siguiendo la receta en inglés que elaboraron algunos niños de 4ºB y escuchando sus voces mientras cocinaban.


Los padres y madres interesados en ver las fotos, me podéis mandar un email al correo que os hice llegar en la circular de Navidad.


Hoy he grabado las voces de algunos de los niños de 4ºA y 4ºB, hablando sobre ellos mismos (sin apellidos, ni dirección), tanto en Inglés como en español.


El profesor de Devon, que sabe español, se las pondrá a sus niños en clase.
Sus alumnos de 6º están aprendiendo francés, por lo que si alguna de las familias francófonas de nuestro cole quiere grabar las voces de sus niños/as presentándose en francés, pues también las enviamos (me hacéis llegar los mp3 por email).


Estamos todos muy ilusionados con el proyecto y los profesores de los cinco colegios, muy implicados.

Queridos padres y niños:


¡Acabo de recibir algunos podcasts de nuestros colaboradores de la Escuela Primaria de un pueblo de Devonshire!
Los padres interesados en escucharlos, me podéis mandar un email a la dirección de correo que os hice llegar con las notas del primer trimestre.
Ya sabéis que estamos haciendo un proyecto conjunto sobre Andalucía con centros de Primaria de diversos países europeos (en concreto de Estambul, Reino Unido, Italia y Rumanía). Estuvimos a punto de colaborar con un centro de Transilvania, pero no pudo ser finalmente.
Mañana harán las recetas de cuatro de nuestros niños de 4ºB en Estambul. 
Les hice fotos a las hojas con las recetas y grabé las voces de los niños leyéndolas. ¡Con esos datos, los niños de Turquía nos comentarán en diversos podcasts que tal les han salido vuestras recetas, chicos!
Mañana grabaré más voces de nuestros niños para mandarlas a las dos seños de Italia y Rumanía.
Estoy a la espera de recibir powerpoints elaborados por los niños de primaria del centro colaborador de Italia.
Los niños y niñas de Devon leerán las recetas que les he mandado para que podamos escuchar su acento.
Esta ha sido la primera actividad del proyecto, relacionada con el tema que estamos viendo en 4º y con la próxima festividad del Día de Andalucía.

LAUNCHING A PROJECT WITH TWO BRITISH SCHOOLS AND STILL COUNTING!!

Good evening, dear parents and children.

I am quite happy today since the project I decided to launch has been approved by "E-twinning" and "Ministerio de Educación".

Buenas tardes, queridos padres y alumnos.

Hoy estoy especialmente contenta ya que me acaban de aprobar un proyecto que he elaborado para el portal "e-twinning", supervisado por el Ministerio de Educación.

Este portal tiene como propósito establecer vínculos entre escuelas e institutos de la Unión Europea.

He elaborado un proyecto en el que van a trabajar, en principio los alumnos y alumnas de 4º de Primaria, aunque es probable que lo desarrollemos a nivel de Departamento de Inglés de Primaria, es decir, incluidas todas las seños que damos inglés en esa etapa.
Próximamente, entregaremos una circular al respecto a los padres y madres de los niños de 4º.

Será un proyecto sobre Andalucía en el resto de Europa. Elaboraremos diversos materiales sobre nuestras recetas más típicas, modo de vida habitual, leyendas, personajes célebres...

Utilizaremos diversos soportes y recursos (podcasts, emails, cartas, fotografías, dibujos...)

La finalidad de este proyecto es que nuestros niños y niñas puedan establecer contactos con alumnos de su misma edad de varios centros británicos, uno de Turquía y, es posible que acepte colaboradores de otros países de Europa. Me interesarían en especial los países nórdicos.

Estoy muy ilusionada con el proyecto porque para mi el Inglés es un idioma para vivirlo, hablarlo, conocerlo y EXPERIMENTARLO, que nos toque de cerca.

PARA AQUELLOS QUE NO HAN LLEGADO AL "SUFI" ESTE TRIMESTRE...

Good evening, dear parents.
It is important to emphasise that there are times when, even though our children work quite hard that is not enough to get the targets in the subject.
So, despite the reasons why we got to that point (we are to talk about that in a parents-teacher meeting) I´m to set some tasks to fulfill on holidays.


Estimados padres y madres:
Me gustaría hacerles saber que hay veces en las que nuestros niños y niñas, a pesar de haber trabajado desde septiembre no llegan a alcanzar los objetivos propuestos en esta asignatura.
Por eso, independientemente de los motivos por los que hemos llegado a este punto (Tutoría, de lunes a viernes - previo aviso- a las 9 o a las 12) voy a recomendar algunas tareas para las vacaciones.
Cuando reciban las notas el próximo día 22, si su hijo/a tiene un "insuficiente" en Inglés, por favor consulten este blog.
 En la columna de la derecha de la pantalla principal verán "Páginas". Vayan a la página correspondiente al curso de sus hijos y comprueben los contenidos que hemos trabajado desde septiembre a diciembre.
Es necesario que los escriban y pronuncien correctamente.

Me he grabado leyendo cada pregunta, frase... de esas páginas. Lo pueden escuchar en estos tres videos. Disculpen el estado de mi voz, acababa de recuperarla.
Me he dado cuenta de que me he saltado la pronunciación de "It´s (a) quarter past nine"...en los podcasts de 3º y 4º. Sorry about that.

WHAT´S YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION? HOMEWORK 4ºA AND 4ºB

Buenas tardes a todos.
Quiero agradecer su colaboración y destacar la creatividad de los videos que me están mandando las familias de 4º.
Hemos conseguido precisamente lo que buscaba con estos deberes:
La implicación total de la familia en la elaboración y que hagan algo creativo todos juntos.
El Inglés es comunicación, una forma de vida, algo totalmente vivo, lleno de color y matices.
Asi son los videos que estoy recibiendo.
Da gusto actualizar el blog a cada instante con contenidos tan divertidos y que transmiten la alegría que tienen nuestros niños.
El video de Lina es una excepción en cuanto a detalles personales.
Ya saben que sigo unas pautas muy estrictas sobre los datos personales y que no publico fotos de los niños, contenidos con sus nombres, apellidos ni con el nombre del colegio.
Sin embargo, puesto que la familia de Lina ha grabado este video incluyendo sus datos, lo publico a continuación con su consentimiento.

Reitero que en este caso se me ha autorizado a publicarlo.

I would like to remind you of the contents your children have to revise for the tests.
Please remember I´ll write such data in "PRIMARY 1º,2º" and "PRIMARY 3º, 4º".
Los videos, listenings, juegos sobre los contenidos que vamos viendo en clase los publicaré en la página principal.
Las páginas de "Primary 1º,2,3º,4º,5º,6º" serán para fotos de actividades, deberes de clase o información sobre controles y contenidos del curso.
Las fechas de los controles, además de llevarlas apuntadas en las agendas y libretas de Inglés aparecerán en la parte derecha del Blog, en NOTICE BOARD (tablón de avisos).
Las entradas se van archivando. Para encontrar algo que quieran recordar basta con consultar el apartado "Blog Archive" en la parte derecha de la pantalla o "Labels" , las etiquetas que voy poniendo a cada entrada (video, pictures, memories, podcasts...).

Hi everyone and Lucy in particular!.
I feel extremely happy today since I´ver just read your comment. It brightened up my day!
When you teach  a subject at school you always dream of making your students an active part in it. What I mean is that you crave for communicating, for making language an important thing in their lives!.
You just wrote a comment that I did not expect, in fact, since I´m no longer your teacher.
However, I can tell you that both you and your classmates play an oustanding role in my memories as a teacher since you were one of the groups I taught in my first year at school.
I remember the Easter cards you made...do you know that I found yours last year? I still keep some of them.


By the way (I love boasting around about this...) I was lucky enough to sleep at Portora Royal, Oscar Wilde´s school in Enniskillen (Northern Ireland). It was great. You enter that school and there is a huge hall, with his portrait on the wall! I remember I was quite shocked since it was the same portrait I saw in one of the compulsory novels I had to read at the uni!!!.


I also like "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and I remember the film in the 1940s. I bought it a couple of years ago with a special edition of the novel.

SOME "GHOST STUFF" FOR MY STUDENTS IN 6º (now that you are all thinking about Halloween...)

Since Halloween is just around the corner (even though you know I don´t celebrate it when I´m in Spain, just when I lived in Northern Ireland), I thought of letting you know about one of the classics:

"The Canterville Ghost", a short story by Oscar Wilde.

 My English teacher chose it as compulsory reading when I was a couple of years older than you.

Seasons Craft . Thanks to the mum or dad who made it. It´s been a long time since I last saw such a nice stuff! An art piece, in fact.

Well...Autumn came at last. It always was and will be my
favourite season.

Some people will get grumpy and complain about rain, wind
and cold. Cold is maybe the worst of them three.

However, there are loads of nice memories in my brain
concerning autumn and rain...

The best of them...me in my tiny wellies, jumping into every
single pond I would come across in my way to school...
and jumping so high as to get stained
and share those stains with whom dared to get in my way!...

And a few years ago...the smell of the soil, "soaked to the bone" 
by the rain drops of the emerald island...

...flavours and smells of nature, wood, factories
and the sight of ravens 
scratching their wings with their beaks,
waiting patiently on the traffic lights...
