UDI: 'Where to get what we need'.

Como ya comencé a hacer varios cursos atrás, durante el tercer trimestre, cada alumno de 3°EPO realiza un proyecto de Inglés relacionado con el trabajo de las familias del grupo.
No explico aqui con detalle las fases porque, son los niños quienes han de entender lo que hacer cuando se lo explico en inglés en clase.
Os adjunto algunas fotografías.
El proyecto se hace exclusivamente en clase y principalmente con material de reciclaje (consiste en desarrollar la imaginación y la creatividad).
Se lo pasan muy bien, aprenden a trabajar en equipo, gestionando los conflictos y van desarrollando la habilidad de pensar a largo plazo.

here I upload some pics about our school project concerning shops.
It was more than three years ago some students carried it out for the first time and that is the reason why I give kids the chance to do it when they are in 3°.
It grants them the chance to make use of loads of resources as to get their final 'building'.
I'm sure you would love to see them work as much as I do every week!

Como parte de nuestro proyecto de Cultura Digital en español e Inglés, un grupo de 6° contactó con Greenpeace Australia y les mandó un póster sobre cómo cuidar el medio natural.
Esta es la respuesta que nos envían

Hoy la leeremos en clase:

Greenpeace is a non-government organisation that campaigns for the protection of the environment world wide. Greenpeace campaigns focus on putting a stop to dangerous climate change, as well as protection of forests and the animals, plants and people that depend on them. We also campaign to defend our oceans, protect whales and other marine life, eliminate toxic chemicals, ensure our food and farming systems are sustainable, and campaign against the dangerous use of nuclear power.

Os adjunto el video grabado por nuestra compañera del Departamento de Lengua,Inmaculada, como clausura de estas actividades realizadas por las dos con motivo del Día de la Poesía.Más adelante se publicarán los videos de la dramatización del poema y las entrevistas a algunos niños de la clase.

Kids in 6°A are finishing this weekly project devoted to poetry.
They have adapted 'The Lady of Shalott' (Alfred Lord Tennyson) to our 21st century, by rewriting their own poem based on it.
Other kids have drawn a poster resembling John William Waterhouse paintings about the poem.
Some others will sing the song based on it, while three more kids read it aloud and perform it.
Other kids have written down some of the most powerful lines in its verses in a Medieval Style, since 'The Lady of Shalott' (though it was written in 19th century deals with the Arthurian Cycle).

When I was studying English Literature, I had to read several poems by William Butler Yeats.
Some years later, while I was living in Northern Ireland I had the chance to visit his grave in Dumcliffe, Sligo.
I will never forget the epitaph he chose for that stone.
It was a day I felt linked to all those verses I had read for years
Here I submit one of his poems.
It is devoted to the aged.

Os recomiendo en especial la ponencia de Juan Ráez,profesor de la Universidad de Jaén,compañero mío de promoción de Filología Inglesa y todo un experto en literatura irlandesa (en especial sobre Seamus Heaney. Basó su tesis doctoral en él, elaborada en gran parte en Irlanda del Norte).

Día de la Paz

Como cada año,dedico una entrada al día de hoy y cuelgo la fotografía de esa estatua de Londonderry o Derry (Irlanda del Norte) que me impactó la primera vez que estuve alli.
Un amigo católico me explicó que simboliza a un católico y a un protestante quienes,aun estando cerca y siendo vecinos no llegan a tocarse,a unirse.
Hoy hablamos de la ausencia de paz en el mundo en las escuelas,como forma de acercar el concepto de paz a la realidad inmediata de los niños.
Siempre cuento cómo fue para mi vivir dos años en una zona donde el terrorismo marcaba la vida diaria,las relaciones sociales...
Es mi forma de recordar que la paz tiene que mantenerse,que buscarse y que consolidarse,estemos donde estemos.
Feliz día de la Paz y la no violencia.

DID YOU KNOW THAT...
in the past, Saturday and Sunday were the days of Saturn and the Sun.
Then in Spanish they changed the name but, in other languages it is kept.
It would be horrible to live in Mercury:
You would burn or you would freeze!!!
Venus was the name of the Roman Goddess of beauty and love and Mars was the name of the war.
Jupiter is the biggest planet from the Solar System and it´s eleven times bigger than the Earth.
During a lot of time, we thought that Saturn had two rings but when we could send spaceships, we saw that it really had thousands of individual rings.
If you could Uranus and Neptune in your bath they would float!!!

Problema matemático desde Italia

Hola a todos.
Escribo en español para llegar a más lectores.
Hoy tenemos ya el problema matemático que nos envía nuestro colegio italiano asociado al proyecto.
Los niños le darán respuesta con sus profesores de matemáticas de 5° y 6° y traducirán el planteamiento conmigo para hacerlo llegar a los demás socios
(República Checa y Reino Unido).
Armando ya está creando su propio enigma matemático ilustrado.
En cuanto su seño de matemáticas le dé el visto bueno lo publicaré.
Así, los colegios asociados nos enviarán la solución y cómo han llegado a ella.
